BRYAN BURGIN

Having always been fascinated with the play of color and light, Bryan sought a media for years through which he could express his creativity. Stumbling upon a glass studio in Charleston, he quickly learned the basics of fused glass, and within a few months he installed a studio at home where he continues to work and challenge himself, focusing primarily on transparent colored glass and bright geometric patterns.  The mysteries of fused glass are all about time, temperature, and compatibility. While different types of glass can be fused, only glass of the same kind can be fused together. Each type of glass requires different temperatures and firing times to bring out the beauty and shape. Firing typically take 24 hours, with most pieces requiring multiple firings. Bryan chooses to work with COE 90 glass, and takes his inspirations from everyday life.
