Thirty years after falling under the spell of clay and the potters’ wheel, Ed Bryan’s distinctive work in stoneware continues to grow and evolve. Ed’s pieces are refined, yet rustic and masculine in style; finished with textured, earthy glazes. Traditional utilitarian Japanese influence is almost always evident in his work, and his pieces are often enhanced with hemp-wrapped bamboo handles and aged copper accents. While highly decorative, most of his work is entirely functional as well; from traditional water-carrying vessels to artistically rendered face jugs and hanging bird houses. Serving pieces are food safe.
